Wow. Manecy completely embodies and displays true Kenneth love! haha. Once you fall for Kenneth there’s really no turning back. I can’t believe she had her eye on Kenneth back in his cameo days…”A Colourful Life” ! sheesh…we’re not even talking about cameos like Eternal Happiness…that’s pretty crazy stuff! She just couldn’t stop talking about Kenneth and she likes to convince everyone to like him as well (telling the other girl to imagine a long haired MaMing since she likes guys w/ long hair)! She said her 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd choice are all MaMing! She went to school in Canada, hence her open display of Kenneth love lol. All thru, she started giggling even when she was asked what she would do if she got to act in intimate scenes w/ him! She said she’d lose control and that she’d even be a cameo just to be in a scene w/ Kenneth. The other girl kept saying Manecy always talks about dreaming about running into Kenneth during interviews. Even that day, she was like “do you think I’ll run into Kenneth?”

When asked if she’s ever met Kenneth in person, Manecy says that she hasn’t really. She has friends that know him and the whole ATV knows she crazy about him. She recalls seeing him in person at a Walk-athon and she spent 10 mins just staring at him, but was too shy to go talk to him despite being egged on by everyone around her.

She said Kenneth is like her white horse prince and even the host got tired of her constant talking about him! She commented that she thinks MaMing likes more mature girls and that she herself is pretty mature. The host then said that the most recent rumor girl (Nancy) is not older…Manecy asked who he is rumored w/ now and then said hopefully that it was probably just a rumor and that maybe the one about Margie was real (does she have inside info hmm?). She said that her friends are tired of her bothering them and would not tell her if he had a gf or not! She also said she’d be slightly disappointed if he was taken.lol. She also claims to have a Kenneth collection (pix and everything) and still collects them when she has time now despite a busy schedule! When the host said the media calls MaMing a “tall version Amigo” she seemed offended!

I have been so busy lately filming that i havent really taken any new pics, so here are some old pics that i took before filming!!! These pics were taken at maldives a little trip i had be4 i started wk, my little getaway with friends!!! We had great fun and its where i got the great tan from!!! I miss that color, i miss maldives!!!

Got to spend more time with Angela, thats when i scared her, calling her mama the hole trip and i met a crazy new friend, Rene!!! The crazy pack!!!!

Recently, I read a translation of a great interview with actor Kenneth Ma over at Jaynestars.com, the current king of websites devoted to translating Hong Kong entertainment news and gossip into English. I crowned Jayne king (or rather queen) because her site updates frequently, her translations are coherent and grammatical, and she also throws in some very interesting features – just like that wacky “y” in the middle of her name. Hers is the best of the recent batch of such sites whose numbers have exploded over the last year or so. Before they multiplied, these websites formed a singular, sequential line stretching back to the mid-1990s.

The costume fitting for this ManChor series was held on 9/4/08. The cast inculdes Damien, Kathy, Toby, Kenneth, Angela Tong and Crystal Tin. The Tentative title is: General Chai & Lady Balsam. Kenneth’s role is named Yu Yam Kwok (credits to spcnet.tv).

Kathy Chow, Damien Lau, Kenneth Ma and Toby Leung were present for costume tryout of TVB new series [General Chai And Lady Balsam] (tentative title). Kathy points out that she worked with Damien in [To Where He Belongs] 7 years ago while Damien felt that Kathy has not aged. Kathy also divulged that she she has to stay in Hong Kong to film this series, she will have to separate temporarily with her boyfriend (he is living in Mainland China). Thanks to nowadays technology she can still meet him online. As her schedule was packed till next year, she have not considered marriage at the moment.

In addition, Toby and Kenneth will have a romantic but complicated relationship. However she prefer to be straightforward in real life. When asked if she openly admits her relationship with Ron Ng on Facebook, Toby stressed that it was fake as she doesn’t know how to write Chinese at all.

According to a fan’s (Wilson, credit to KA) conversation with Kenneth, Kenneth doesn’t mind being compared with the other 3 in the series. He is just worried that fans of the original novel couldn’t accept the series since it will deviate from the original works. (Kenneth is very humble, even with fans )

• Kenneth’s Manchor series w/ Damian & Kathy Chow won’t be filming until September. A video from Kenneth at gameshow ‘Identity’ filming saying that the script isn’t out yet and that he’ll probably play a “general”(? I think); I’m kinda excited now to hear that. General…Hott uniform oohlala….I’m kinda looking forward to seeing Toby costar w/ Kenneth as well. Though I like Toby, I can totally see her more being Kenneth’s sister than gf, but who knows? I like Toby’s singing and wouldn’t mind a duet of her w/ Kenneth (I’d love another Kenneth themesong since it’s unlike Kathy/Damian will sing..so it’s that or they hire a real singer haha) Since Toby’s crazy and chatty and blogs alot w/ pix & in English, I’m sure she and MaMing will get along and have fun filming together! So watch out for Toby’s blog! He’s currently up to doing TVB promo stuff until Sept. when he starts filming!

• Kenneth’s blog video shows him speaking about a Reality Show he’s filmed. It’s called “TVB8 Junior Idol 2008.” Since I love reality tv, I’m glad to hear that he’s in it, but it’s in Mandarin so I’ll have some trouble lol. He’s a principle/teacher figure, along w/Yoyo Mung, Joe Ma, Vivien Yeo, and Vincent Wong and the show takes place in Malaysia (Kenneth’s first time there!). Each of them gets 3 little ones, which Kenneth lovingly calls his children lol (awww…) The sad part is, they have to end up eliminating the littles, resulting in only one getting a TVB contract and MaMing finds this to be a super tough job!

• Kenneth was on gameshow “Identity” w/ Angela Tong and his Think Bank was Timmy Hung & Toby Leung. I can just imagine how crazy that was! Kenneth & Angela ended up winning and in that video that I can’t find again, he said he’d be treating fans to something after he goes to Malaysia (I think). • MK Sun appears yet again in “Your Class or Mine.” I believe this is a first for TVB to guest star the same character in more than one series. Haha..Kenneth really has left a mark w/ MK Sun, because once you see Kenneth as a lawyer w/ that smirk (Money Maker’s Recipe) and now w/ the jean jacket and fake tie, you know it’s MK Sun! If only TVB kept the Top 10 Fav. Characters, I know for sure Kenneth would get something! Maybe he’ll get into Top 5 for Fav. Male Character?! haha.

• The Four is airing soon and all four guys sing the themesong! They’re gonna film the promo for it soon and Kenneth’s been doing some dubbing for the series! I cannot wait!

Roger Kwok Afraid Of Filming With Kids

TVB series D.I.E <古靈精探> achieved some great ratings for its grand finale, so a champagne celebration was held yesterday evening for the show’s cast and crew members, including Roger Kwok (郭晉安), Sonija Kwok (郭羨妮), Margie Tsang (曾華倩), Derek Kok (郭政鴻) and producer Cheung Kin Man (張乾文).

TVB General Manager Stephen Chen (陳志雲) also attended the event and announced proudly that a sequel for the successful series has been planned. He also thanked the birth of Roger’s son for helping to promote the show even more.

The series finale was aired last week and reached a ratings average of 41 points (2.6 million viewers), peaking at 44 points (2.8 million viewers).

Comments: Kenneth was unable to attend the function since he is still in Hunan practicing for SCDII. (haha. obviously Derek’s back in time for the function lol.) I have no idea if Kenneth will be included for the sequel. Wonder if it’ll be a continuation of the first? Hopefully, HOTT Hugo will reprise his role and find true love… maybe even in Momoko (Nancy)?!

Side note: Jessica Hsuan has confirmed that JLII will be a continuation of the first… (with so many of the original actors/actresses gone…I’m not sure how it’ll turn out…. and what is the point of the sequel?)

I’m kinda hoping..this is weird… that Kenneth will have a Cougar relationship w/ Jessica haha…i usually don’t like those, but Jessica is still very good looking for her age…and it’ll be interesting….since Kenneth’s never paired up w/ a LEADING lady before (Sonija is leading, but she’s not “awarded-recognized” nor loved by TVB)… since u know, Bosco has paired w/ Jessica before (LMS) and Raymond has paired w/ Charmaine…. so it’ll be interesting… or I would also LOVE it…if he gets to be Sunny’s friend or long lost brother or something! I loved their chemistry in LG!

So. While I’m quite upset about the pairings…what’s done is done. It’s kinda funny actually as someone on the other forum mentioned that Kenneth and his partner, whose name I’m not sure how it’s pronounced in cantonese have names of animals that both eat grass… lol. so its Ma (horse)-Niu(cow?) haha…that’s pretty cute..i guess…

It was sooooo ADORKable! Wa….Kenneth got chosen by TWO GIRLS! lol. ok. I was kinda hoping Myolie & Nancy would pick him as well, but they didn’t which was reasonable cuz it is a competition after all. They should’ve picked the strongest links! As for Christine picking Kenneth (aw…calling him a silly boy and Astrid calling him that also) that was really cute (kenneth was surprised!)… Since Christine is an underdog, it wouldn’t hurt her much to pick Kenneth, someone who she enjoys being w/ so that was reasonable.

What was supercute was that Chen Lu from the Mainland team chose him also! (She was the girl who asked him the question during epi3) aw… Timmy chose Chen Lu and Kenneth wanted to too, but Timmy wouldn’t let him…that’s so kute…. and how funny is it that Chen Lu chose Kenneth instead.. Haha… she was so not making sense when she said she chose Kenneth cuz he looked tall and strong (Timmy is comparably tall and has a LOT more meat on him) haha… we KNEW you chose him for other reasons..its ok to admit it… WAs she charmed away by Kenneth? Liked his silliness? Thinks he’s amazingly handsome? and so on…hahah… (Well, Chen Lu ended up being Timmy’s partner, but “ha timmy, it doesn’t matter if she’s actually ur partner nor if u got to write her name on ur card, all that matters is that SHE CHOSE KENNETH instead!” haha jkjk.. I <3 timmy also…)

I just feel bad for whoever Kenneth was forced to pick on his card…haha he basically said that cuz Timmy didn’t let me pick Chen Lu, I randomly picked her… (haha. that’s how i interpret it anyways haha)

Well the TVB guys made a pact to choose Mainland girls…so that’s why Kenneth didn’t choose a TVB girl. I guess that’s a good idea cuz they don’t want rumors nor to upset their friends! I guess the voters did want diverse pairings.. haha its a win-win situation for them if any team wins! 1 Mainland – 1 TVB teams… only if Kevolie wins (which i kinda doubt) do TVB truly have the king and queen.

Haha…i know sum ppl didn’t like Kenneth’s outfit last time, but i really grew to like it. It was esp kute when he moved his lil antennae from side-to-side during judging… super adorable… some ppl say he’s overscored, but actually ALL of them are overscored lol… I’m ok w/ the biased as longest it helps Kenneth ahha…. i feel that the judges get to see a LOT more than we do and they are swayed by how hard the person works..so I think that’s why some of the scores are so inflated! As Kenneth fans, I don’t think we expect him to win. Instead, we’re really proud of him for even going up on stage and doing what he’s done. Haha…we just want him to stay until the last night (final 4 i think?) and give us tons of videos, screencaps, awesome pictures and news to enjoy! (most of us LOVE the prep vids!)

Yet again, our hopes were high and are dropped. I thought that since it was up to the audience to vote, there would be a bigger chance of KeNancy. I was spot on for Kevolie…but …not for KeNancy! … or at least Team Underdog/Awesomeness w/ Christine…. may I ask who in the world voted as they did?!

OH well…anyways I still very happy that Kenneth made it to the pairings!

Omg…Kenneth has improved! haha… both Teachers: YangYang and Chow Chi Kwan (they really like him) gave him 9’s and Jordan and the other guy gave him 8’s…ugh…lol…. !

I was very fierce. I love the contrast….the good boy last time and now the bad boy. Love his prep video…he is so hilarious! I believe Astrid really likes him as well.

The Low-Profile New Age Actor

Among the newcomers TVB is trying promote in the past few years, Kenneth Ma is considered the most low-key one and makes the least headlines in the news. He was introduced to the audience three years ago in Triumph In The Skies where Ron Ng, Sammul Chan, Bosco Wong and him were known as S4. In these three years, Ron and Bosco both had had an endless stream of rumoured romances and hence were often seen in the news. As for Sammul, he made rather good progress in his career as well. Although Kenneth never stopped participating in filming work and even showed a rather outstanding performance in the recently-aired Love Guaranteed, the level of audience exposure he had is still the least among the four.

Looking back at the past three years, Kenneth Ma had changed neither his personality nor his lifestyle after he joined the showbiz. He says “I joined the industry because I like acting. Hence, my job is to act and my goal is very clear and simple. Besides, there is nothing for me to compare with them three. We all have our own work and (career) advancements. I’ve been quite busy with filming these few years and don’t even have the time to sleep. Under such conditions, how can I generate any news?”

Kenneth also admits that his low-profile has something to do with his personality. He says, “My goal is to act. News reports and the frequency at which I appear in the news are by-products. Besides, a lot of veterans are also very low-profile, such as Liu Qing Yun and Su Yu Hua – they put their acting abilities in first place. I hope to learn from them, especially since I personally like to keep a low-profile. For example, I was very rational in my support for Leslie Cheung back then. I will only support him by watching his films or buying his albums. I won’t wait overnight for him to appear or chase after his car. Besides, I’m not trying to portray myself as an idol right now so it’s normal for me to keep a low-profile.”

Although TVB has been pushing the new generation of actors to an all-rounded career development, Kenneth’s work has been focused on filming. However, he does not mind this. He says, “Of course I do hope to develop in all areas but I’d like to focus solely on filming right now because I want the tv audience to accept me further. I will try out other areas of work when I’ve entered into the hearts of the audience.”

Easily Satisfied

His entrance into showbiz did not change Kenneth’s personality and his view towards spending. He says, “The lifestyle I aim for is one that is comfortable and simple. Although my father has already retired and I am responsible for the family’s finances, this has not changed my outlook on life. I live a rather thrifty lifestyle; I don’t have to spend too much money. Also, I still take the subway and eat at the neighbourhood teahouses as before. My hobby is soccer so like you can see, my lifestyle is very ordinary.”

Kenneth, who holds a degree, joined the showbiz because he likes acting. He feels it is hard to come across a good opponent. He says, “I worked quite well with Cherie Kong in Love Guaranteed because that was the second time I worked with her (They once collaborated in Scavenger’s Paradise). She is one who’s willing to go through the script together with her opponent for a scene. In addition to that, there is chemistry between us. Filming with Love Guaranteed’s cast was really enjoyable and many of the dialogue lines were added spontaneously on the set. They came out pretty good.”

haha…Kenneth kept saying he was so afraid of embarrassing himself in front of everyone! The TVB girls sure did cheer him on!

He was kinda stiff, but those moves… were pretty good… I consider it an accomplishment for him not dropping the girl! haha…Also, she started off kissing him on the cheek for real i believe and he kissed her back.. lol… really hott! haha…Kenneth’s Mandarin isn’t that good…but that’s ok. I wouldn’t be able to say all that he said lol. He was very polite to the judges and kept thanking them sincerely!

Kenneth and Grace Wong?!

Hopefully he is just attending a promo w/ her and that they are not actually partners for the show! Afterall, it’s suppose to be a draw of faith…unless they changed it this season…I had a strange feeling it might turn out this way after seeing her name on the list. I must say however, during Ms. HK, Grace was a pretty good dancer!
